The Hamden Education Foundation is excited about the Hamden Middle School’s new Navigator Program, a project-based learning program designed around the construction of 6 Bevin Skiffs.  Working with Mystic Seaport, Hamden Middle School educators have integrated the 8th-grade curriculum around the construction of these skiffs. Through the use of hands-on construction that applies the learning of the classroom, they hope to better meet the needs of 30 students for whom the traditional classroom has not led to success while igniting in them a passion for learning.  As part of the program, the students are required to give back to the community.
